While our president, Francesco, and Isla’s friends and supporters train to swim the Strait of Messina, the campaign has attracted the support of an outstanding athlete who is always by our girls’ side: Alessia Zecchini will swim with us!
The crossing of the Strait of Messina is not just a sporting challenge, it is an act of solidarity, a symbolic bridge between those fortunate enough to have a choice and those who struggle every day simply for a hot meal, a home, a future.
Every stroke in the Strait will bring with it a story, a face, the smiles of the children welcomed into the Isla ng Bata Family Home in the Philippines. Children who every day find in our organization not only protection, but the chance to finally feel safe.
Alessia Zecchini‘s participation in our crossing on September 6, 2026, will make everything even more exciting. Those who know her story know that the sea represents much more than a natural element for her: it is silence, discipline, transformation. Over the years, she has braved impossible depths, setting world records and inspiring thousands with her extraordinary strength.
