Just days after the Rome Marathon, the adrenaline and team spirit are still high. Numerous supporters, volunteers, and friends of Isla ng Bata gathered at the Circus Maximus in Rome to run and walk together, raising funds for our Family Home in the Philippines. The Maratona di Roma (Run Rome The Marathon) weekend was much more than a sporting event: it transformed into a moment of collective participation, enthusiasm, and solidarity experienced alongside Isla ng Bata. Ninety people took part in the Fun Run, filling the streets with energy, smiles, and a desire to be there. Their presence demonstrated that even a simple gesture, like running or walking together, can take on a significant meaning. Together with them, 60 relay participants built a symbolic shared path, made of collaboration, mutual trust, and steps that demonstrate the true value of teamwork. Our marathon runners, who completed the entire 42.195-kilometer distance, also contributed to making this experience even more special. With strength and determination, they carried forward a clear and powerful message: every achievement can transform into concrete help for those experiencing fragility.
The contribution of the volunteers, who came from various regions of Italy, was also invaluable. With dedication, enthusiasm, and availability, they made every moment of this adventure possible, helping to make it a truly meaningful experience.
What we experienced in Rome was therefore much more than a sporting event: it was concrete proof that when many people choose to unite around a common goal, they can generate real change.
Thanks to this large turnout, it will be possible to cover meals for the Isla Bata Family Home in the Philippines for about two months. A tangible result, which demonstrates care, sharing, and responsibility.
It’s a milestone that belongs to everyone. Thank you so much!
We’re already ready for the next Rome Marathon with Isla, and if you’d like to take us with you around the world, running in support of the Association and the children we care for, please contact us at info@islangbata.it.
